As a family, we’ve eaten at Akashi weekly for years! It is our absolute favorite place for sushi and hibachi in NC. Everything is high quality and delicious every time. My son loves their miso soup and they have gluten free soy sauce for my husband. We are so grateful to be just down the street from the best Japanese spot in Durham!!!

Delicious food at a good price! The rolls are 50% off if you get 2, and the sushi menu is giant! Their lunch bento is also a great choice!

Service is outstanding. They really treat you well. The soup had an awesome lemongrass after taste. That was refreshing. As far as the crispy catfish, it was good but I did not like the sauce it came with. It was a little salty for my tastes. But the catfish had a very clean taste to it.

This is by far our favorite sushi place in Durham! We'd been to several and never really found that great spot -- and found many to be overpriced to boot -- and then we found Akashi. The sushi is excellent and the prices can't be beat. It's nothing fancy, but the food is really good, the staff is friendly, and the price is right. Every time we go, my husband and I split 4 rolls. We've tried probably half of the rolls on the menu at this point. Our favorites are the Wolfpack, Caribbean, Akashi, Volcano and White Dragon. I can't speak to the rest of the menu, we've only had the sushi, but if you're looking for a good, solid sushi joint, Akashi is the place to go!
